Pappy & Co's Tart Cherry Margaritas

Pappy & Co. is back with founder, Carrie Van Winkle Greener’s tart cherry margaritas. This cocktail is delicious - one of my favorites created by our friends at Pappy & Co.

Classic margaritas are fairly alcohol intensive. This one, with its fruit, juice and soda water feels more refreshing. Perfect for summer nights on the back deck. Cheers!

Serves 4

10 Orasella maraschino cherries
8 oz silver tequila
4 oz Cointreau
4 oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
4 oz unsweetened cherry juice (like Pom)
1 oz Pappy Van Winkle Barrel Aged Pure Maple Syrup
A splash of soda water (optional)
Lime wedges and cherries for garnish

Place the cherries in a cocktail shaker. Mash with a muddler or the end of a wooden spoon until well-crushed, about 1 minute. Add the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, unsweetened cherry juice, maple syrup, and 8 large ice cubes.

Cover the shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Immediately strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Top with soda water if desired. Garnish with Orasella maraschino cherries and limes.
